Lately…
Hi, I’m Joe
Before moving to Boulder, Colorado in 2020, I lived and worked remotely in a van with my wife Ashleigh for over two years.
On our fourth wedding anniversary in May 2018, we left our home in the northeast and embarked on the adventure of a lifetime: to see the western US in our Sprinter RV, chronicling it at Namago.co.
Day to day
My full time livelihood is Apple technology consulting. I’ve owned and run PsiMac since 2004, and previously served on the Advisory Council of the Apple Consultants Network.
I have a couple of other things going on:
Side projects
In 2013, I founded Command Control Power, an Apple consulting podcast which I’ve co-hosted with two colleagues and friends, Sam and Jerry – for over 500 episodes!
After my first Burning Man in 2014 I co-founded another podcast, called Entheogen, with two good friends, Kevin and Brad.
Affiliations
I support the following 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations:
CoSM, Chapel of Sacred Mirrors, Chairman of the Board and Technical Advisor
MAPS, Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies, Sustaining Donor and Zendo Project, Volunteer
MPP, Marijuana Policy Project, Sustaining Member
DeMentha, Member and Water Captain

I go by Joe “Zap” because it rhymes with my family name and has many fewer syllables. I credit my friend, visionary artist Alex Grey, with coining the name as he describes the way I “zap” technology back to health.
